Caroline Voaden is an inspirational Liberal thinker and politician. A passionate speaker, she uses her sharp intelligence and wit to engage her audience.

Widely respected in the European Parliament for leading the largest pro-EU contingent of British MEPs, Caroline is one of the Liberal left’s most eye-catching politicians.

Formerly a journalist with Reuters, Caroline worked in many European countries including Serbia and Croatia, covering the Yugoslav war and its aftermath. She speaks several languages.

Charity

After losing her husband to cancer, she went on to chair a national charity aimed at supporting those who had been widowed young while raising two young children alone. She is as passionate about issues surrounding mental health and parenting as she is about Brexit!

Liberal Democrats

Caroline joined the Liberal Democrats the morning after the EU Referendum in 2016 and within three years was representing the people of SW England & Gibraltar in the European Parliament. She went on to be elected leader of the 16-strong delegation and spoke passionately and movingly about Britain’s place in the EU until the day she had to leave.

Question Time

Caroline was the only pro-EU MEP to appear on Question Time for over 20 years and has appeared on Channel 4 News, the BBC Today programme, ITV news and dozens of regional TV and radio broadcasts.

She has had two books published and writes for various national publications on issues from bereavement to Brexit.
